White paper, colored paper and plastic bottles are items that can be reused. Through recycling, people can reduce their carbon footprint and decrease the amount of garbage sent to landfills. On November 1, just in time for America Recycles Day on November 15, GlenStar will launch its pilot recycling program at the Chicago Board of Trade before rolling it out to all tenants in January 2013.

Tips to help minimize your impact on the environment:

• Report leaky faucets and toilets to conserve water
• Close the blinds when it’s hot outside to conserve energy and heat
• Turn off the lights before leaving the office to conserve energy
• Turn off electronics when not in use to conserve energy
• Recycle paper, cans and bottles by placing them in their correct bins
